Cuti-Cuti Oz Final part

p/s: foto collage jelah dulu mak malas nak upload beratus2 gambar

Day 4 started with gloomy weather. It rains and it kind of set us back. We are contemplating either to head to Gold Coast for Sea World or a 2 hrs drive to Sunshine Coast or the Australia Zoo. We ended up not to any of them. My sisters are just tired to do another theme parky thingie and a 2 hrs drive just not very exciting, ended up we cross the city and brisbane river to Lone Pine, the largest Koala Sanctuary in the World.

We definitely make a right choice. Since its very much cloudy and not very bright, strolling around the sanctuary was perfect. Its time to give something back to the nature. It has a fee to enter it but I could not remember it. But it has package for family, 2 Adults and 3 kids withitn 3-13 yrs old and a discount for students. Luckily all 3 of my mentel sisters bought along their students card so we get to save some dosh on the fee alone.

It was just nice for a half a day tour. You get to see all the sheeps, dogs, kangaroo and its joey, koala, crocodiles, snakes(yucks) and so many more. Never come accross my mind that my son is not afraid of animals. He kind of okay with touching the kangaroo even trying to get as close as possible to Joey(joey, the lil one inside the front pocket of the mother). We had so much fun u know. For non-animal lover like myself, I kind of liking it.

Maybe the weather and it does not make me sweat and a good exercise to walk around the park. Plus the scenery oh just awesome.

We were at Lone Pine till 2pm. We planned to head to DFO but my sisters was just too hungry and I badly need to get some stuffs that need to be picked up at Carindale Mall nearby Abang Ju's house by 4pm. So, we headed to the first shopping mall trip in Brisbane. The trip supposed to be a quick one, coz Ian badly need a lunch and I by all means need to hunt for the vacuma nd blower dust bag coz the one my MIL's used was bought in Oz so it doesnt have any spare dust bag being sell in KL.

So, once we r in the mall, we headed direct to the food court. Had all greek seafood fiesta with fish and chips and lots of calamari with generous serving of salads plus coke. Wow, its been a while that i walloped a soda drink and it tasted good. My son was again sleeping, so I am ok to free surfing the mall. So, got myself what I wanted and accidentally bought 3 shirts at one of the shops there. Ahaks. Got myself lost looking for Hot Wheel car for Efi in Target since one of his car missing in action and it creates enuff fiasco all afternoon.

Nope, I did not get a chance to go to Myers and David Jones even. The mall closed at 4pm. So 2 hrs stop, with so many things to reach, mmg tak cukup ok. One last stop, a perfume shop. Selling all Elizabeth Arden Perfume 30ml at only AUD11. Bought 2 5th Avenue perfume and the 100ml Sunflower at only AUD15. Can u believe myluck. Macam classic lah kan bau dier, some people say like oldies or what but I just like it. Plus, its dirt cheap, oldies or not, I am one lucky fella. My sisters also bought at least 3 each i guess and my dad has been complaining that we the girls could not get enuff of buying things. Now I wonder whether he is talking about him or what coz obviously he also borong-ed quite a lot.

Sempat grab some soft cookies at MrsFields and bought clearance shirts at Millers. Ader few tunics yg lawa and i just grab it la since it has my size and very comel. We got back in speedy way coz the Asar prayer almost to its end and Carindale doesnt provide any prayer room. We just stay in door and that evening had a few shot at the basket ball court with my BIL and sisters. Saja je practicing some skills and helped Nazif's mum prepared the dish coz we are going to storm a nasi dagang for breakfast the next day. Yum Yum!

Cut short to Day 5. Its damn cold. I think it was 8-10degree kot. I could not afford to go out so we stay indoor for a while and had a good nasi dagang brekkie over hot tea. Then, the moment I was waiting, to hijack the markets. The morning weekly market. The largest in Brisbane happened to be 5 minutes drive to Abang Ju's house nearby Sleeman Sports Centre. Its a very huge place.

It has all little knick knacks to satisfy all the cravings. I went ballistic. I bought scrapbooking kit(still in plastic wrap to date), some fancy papers for few dollars only. Then my sisters bought tonnes of books for only 50cents each. Efi got himself sugar high by hitting the cupcakes stores. Geram tgk all fresh veggies and fruits. And my dad has the biggest regret, there's a bally shoes going for only AUD5 and he is contemplating about it. When he decides to have it, the shoes already sold. To heal his broken heart, he got few brass ware for the home at only aud2 each. Cantik sgt. He also got few belts all pure leather. Ian got a 4 pcs tea set for AUD3.

My TOP pick of the day is my naritake set. Yes u got it right. It is still in the box. 6 dinner plate, 12 soup bowl, pepper and salt canistor, creamer and sugar bowl, 6 side plate, 6 small saucer and ok side back 5 piece of cup and saucer. One piece mmg dah pecah. U wont believe my luck. The prices enuff said it just VERY VERY CHEAP and its peanut compared to what I need to pay if I were to buy it in KL. Contemplating is the game, what if it breaks and what nod keep on playing but end up "ok, i will take it". (Post Brisbane: upon arrival 4 side plate and 1 soup bowl was broken. Sedih but seeing how much I paid for it, I think it heals faster than I tot. Beli corelle pun lagi mahal ok. Cukupla if i said that to compare how cheap I paid for the whole thing.)

Wow, after I paid for my biggest purchase, I could not help but smiling ears to ears. Called my dearest hubby and told him about him, he is also estatic. well, I keep on strolling while waiting for the generous lady to repack everything for me. Got a few more small cooking utensils. got a salt and pepper grinder for only aud3 and carton character socks for efi at 5 pairs for only aud5. Cantik banget. And few more small lil pieces.

We headed back home all happy and smiling. Had our zuhur prayer and headed to the city. We are going to have Beriyani's at one of abang jue's colleagues. His wife cook a scrumptious lunch and efi ate a lot. Myself also had a full 2 serving. Wow. Must burn all the calories. After the lunch we have approximately 2 hrs before Asar and head to Myers Centre in the city. Myers Centre has rows of souvenirs shops. And it was way cheap than the one in Gold Coast, damn. So more souvenirs and not forgetting I finally get myself the handmade sheep skin one for my house. It is not even 100dollars. I am happy. We bought tonnes of choc at Darrell Lee and Nazif got a last minutes deal at Canterbury shop. Stroll along the mall and snapped more pictures and we called it the day.

Back at the house we spend the evening appreaciting the nature again. We also starts packing up our stuffs. All bags full to the brim. we have additional 2 big bags and also 4 boxes all together.

The next day, final day has arrived. it was kind of sad. It is still many things to do and many things to see. Efi also has been adjusting well with all unknown faces and place and I have not visited DFO and other place. Aghh!! Damn Royal Brunei for stealing my 1 day. Daarnn. Well but good things sometimes must come to the end. We leave the house around 11. Very sad. Get checked in and prayed for zohor. I finished up all my small change over Tim Tam at the airport and almost bought a ferragamo handbag just to heal my broken hearted. But i try to be wise, more to come hopefully after brisbane. by 1PM, we board the airplane and kiss goodbye to Brisbane.

Overall, I love Brisbane but i definitely will love Sydney more for the shopping bargain kot. ! So, its a reason for my hubby to still bring me to sydney. You are not going to escape Oz ok sayang, even I've been to Brisbane ok. Its not complete without it yet!

I would like to express my deepest thanx to my daddy for taking care of myself and efi and also to my adik-adik, Iman(the niece) and BIL for taking care of Efi while I went berserk shopping. And to Tok Ma, Nazif's mum for cooking delicious meals and obviously to Abang Ju and Kak Aisyah for the kind hospitality. If rezeki permit, I dun mind going again one day perhaps.

Cuti-Cuti Oz Part 3

Day 4 was extremely another great day. Today, we decided to break into 2 group. 1 will be heading to Dream World(DW) and another group obviously to Harbour Town Factory Outlet(HT). No prizes for guessing which group that I fall in. I scrapped DW obviously I am not going to get on any ride with Efi in tow and it saves another AUD64 to pay for my tix. In the end Ita will bring the kids, both Eti and Iman to DW whilst the adults will be going shopping.

We were at DW to buy the tickets for the kids. They're all equipped with enuff sandwiches and other meals and cash too. DW is only 10 minutes away to Harbour Town. We snapped few pictures and get a quick look out on what DW has to offer. Obviously it has all the grande rides, tallest, scary and what not, enuff to keep the kids occupied whilst we have our shopping trip.

After tonnes of ucapan nasihat berjela-jela to Ita, to ensure all are safe under her guardkeeping, we headed to HT. The moment we arrived I am already in awe. I first spotted the Royal Douton Warehouse. I am not a fan of china yet! But its good if i can have a few master piece and I aim to add few more stuffs for the KT house. My late mum has a complete 8 pcs dinner and tea set for both Old Country roses and Lavender Rose. I have been meaning to add few more accesories like cake stand, large serving bowl and what not. It just looks great and complete especially when we arranged it duirng wedding dos and what nod.

So, the moment I step inside, the shopaholic mode turn on. I got few set of placemats, mugs serving dish and bowl. I remain sane by not buying the whole set coz its' still way pricey for me. I will starts with Corelle first-lah. Yet, it was great. They even have lots of toddler clothing line which I refrain myself from buying. My dad has been very supportive by showing this and that. Apparently dad is an avid fan. He says it reminds him a lot of mama. And he likes it. I also bought a set of 4 pcs white plate and saucer from wedgewood for only AUD14 and few loose plate by RD for only AUD1 each. The RD mug is on sale and sold at AUD5-10 each depending on the design. Only first shop, Nazif already has to send my shopping bag to the car.

I better not spend more time inside the shop. Next stop is Canterbury Outlets. Nazif is an avid rugby players. All items on 75% off. Could u believe our luck. I got 4 shirts for Jaz and 2 small bags for myself. The bag just cost me AUD5 each. Gile meroyan. The collared shirt only AUD15-25 each which was super duper cheap. Nazif went hay wire borong-ed. All type of shorts, head gears and everything.

From then, we stroll from one shop to another. I practically enter each homeware shops and bought small knick knacks like cookie cutter, small pebbels, cushion cover, place mats and God knows what. Pening. Sheridan outlet is just too tempting. Bought a set of bed linen, trying hard not to splurge any longer. We did not get anything in Ralph Lauren and Nike outlet. The offer is just still tad bit pricey for my standard.

Then, we stopped for lunch and prayers and continue strolling. The kids are still not done at the theme park and Efi fall asleep on his pram. Perfect. We found a souvenir shops and both Ian and Nazif became a sucker seeing cute lil printed tees for babies. Bought few more things there and we just keep on going back and forth the shop.

Well around 3pm, we head back to DW and waited for the kids to finish all the rides. Apparently they make full use of the time, they complete all rides and even visited the Mini Australian Zoo inside it. We reached home about 430pm, and its the starts of winter. So cold. Funny thing is, we kind of forgot to bring the house key, so ended up playing tennis outside of the house and the kids having so much fun jumping on the giant trampoline. It was gorgeous. We just stayed in door and tomorrow going to be extra busy.

p/s: I dun have many picture taken on this day. Biasalah attention diverted mmg haru la kan....

Cuti-Cuti Oz Part 2

Day 3 continued. Our band new spanking day in down under. We left the house early ard 8am heading direct to Gold Coast, about 40 minutes drive from Brisbane City. Its end of Autumn and going to be Winter in 2 days time. Weather is just fine, its cool breezy air. I like this kind of weather. Efi so far doing ok, lil bit jet lag, Brisbane is only 2 hrs ahead of KL. We packed sandwiches and fried mee from home and tonnes of biscuits, muffins and mineral water. Nih, kes senang tak yah cari halal shop and stop for whatever. Its all ready.

So we arrived in Gold Coast ard 830am. Just circled around the town. Papa and Nazif were quite familiar with the area. We pass through the marina, sea world and other prominent building there. We have 2 lil children, my sister Eti and Nazif's niece who already cant wait to enter all the theme park. And my lil son who really dun understand anything but upon seeing all the games structure getting pretty nervous and excited.

Since all theme park opens at 10am, we headed direct to the beach. Not your usual beach, its the Surfer's Paradise. Well, obviously no surfing has been done but we have been taking tonnes of picture. Not forgetting going ohh and ahhs over everything. Jakun sehh! We even managed to do our first purchase at the souvenir shops there, nothinng much except your usual fridge magnet and koala kitchen. One thing the local are just very laid back and its all very colourful here. I like it. Point to note, check out the gorgeous sexy Parking Mate here. You will be amazed :) (picture of this will be uploaded in my FP :P)

After everyone settled for the loo and what nod, we headed direct to the first pack, the Warner Bros Movie World. Facts: Ticket will cost you AUD64 for adults and AUD42 for children (4-13yrs) but you can purchase a package to visit 3 parks in 3 days which the rates are quite attractive. Refer to the above link to get more info on it. This place is super duper extremely FUN. There is tonnes of rides and show to watch. My personal favourite would be the Shrek 4D animation and also Police Academy Stunt. I went back to my lil old kid by getting on all cute lil rides with Efi at Looney Tunes Village. My mentel sisters get on all roller coaster which I am so chicken out to try. Nah, ev er since I got married I kind of DONE with roller coaster.

To my suprise WBMW provides a very nice and clean prayer area for Muslim. They even have a halal restaurant for Muslim, but we did not buy anything. We had our lunch by the bench nearby the parade area walloping our bekal. :) Efi is having so much fun dancing to the music seeing the parade. He is over obsess with Daffy Duck of all, and happy cheering upon seeing looney tunes. Its very FUN. I was enjoying every single bits of it. We spend 7 hrs in it and still feel like coming back to it again.
The souvenir shops are everywhere. Here is how it works. The park has rides for those thrilling movie like Batman, Leathal Weapon rides, Looney Tunes Ride. It houses row of shops and theme like house for each movie from all the cartoon characters, Shrek, Harry Potter, batman and even High 5 plus Scooby Doo. At each of this small outlets there will be a shops selling merchandise and everything. Just give them the money and u r done. I bought a few knick knacks for souvenir and remembrance.

Until about 5pm, we are all dead tired and hungry. We wrapped up the day by riding one last ride at riverside for some water splashing and left WBMW ard 5+ and reached home all dark at 6pm with hot rice waiting. Thannx to nazif's mum who has been a devoted cook for us while we were in Brisbane.

End of Day 3. Next one......

Cuti-Cuti Oz Part 1

So, to start with, it was all rushing here and there. I just move into the new house and having a sort of small family gathering the night before. Could not stop worrying about travelling sans hubby and limited budget. Even I am fully equipped with CC from hubby but its not very wise to blow it out what with our recent impending shopping fiesta in Jakarta and Bandung and moving to a new house which already cost all our arms and legs.

But true enuff, Day 1 started. (May 29th, 2007). Boarded flight at 745am from KLIA and reach Brunei at 945am. Supposed to take the 1115 connecting flight to Brisbane. Imagine our shocked when we reached the transit counter, the flight has been cancelled. Damn! All 140+ of us were now stranded in Brunei airport. They put us on the next flight only the next morning at 8am. Damn again. They shifted us to Orchid Garden Hotel via coaches. Our family got an impressive 5 rooms with lunch, dinner and breakfast voucher at the hotels. So, we are now stranded tourists en route brisbane in brunei. They even provide a 1/2 day city tour commencing at 230pm.

In a true tourist spirit, we indulge in it. Had our lunch and resfresher. Walloping at the buffet lines and Efi has been an angel so far. Come 230pm, we board the bus, and started Jalan-jalan Brunei. We visited the Brunei Museum, Water Village, Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Jame'Asr Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque and also the Sultan Palace. Wow, the Sultan Palace-Istana Nurul Iman is very huge and its equipped with more than 1500 rooms and all gold plated stuffs even the water tap. It has 3 floors of basement car park containing more than 300 cars mostly Rolls Royce. (uikhs, tak pasal2 mcm jurucakap istana). After all the photo snapping at all these places, we went to Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex, the largest shopping mall in Brunei. No, shopping has been done. I am good girl! End of the day, pusing satu city lagi, and then back to the hotel, had early dinner and settle for the bed very early. Even Efi settled for the night very early.

Day 2, 30th May the moment has arrived. We wake up super duper early. Breakfast is served at 5am. The whole clan was down at 530am, complete with all luggage and my lil son also managed to get some mee goreng to alas perut. We boarded the flight on time and Efi sleep within split second for a straight 3 hours leaving me a peace of mind to nap and enjoy the in flight movie-Music and Lyrics. Not so bad. After 6 gruelling hours, we reached Brisbane airport all tired, hungry but beaming with joy around maghrib time, close to 6pm. We got thru imigration and customs with an ease even with tad bit of drama cause my sister, Ita's visa is questionable. Chait, its all due to the wrong birth date. Damn, they fixed it on the spot and we r free to go. Abang Ju and Kak Aisyah waited for us at the arrival hall and we sorted our car rental terms. Got a brand new Toyota Taranggo cum Estima with car seat for efi for all of us. Reached home and all jakun-ed coz finally we are in Oz soil.
